Mr Milan STOJKOVIĆ has 11 years of experience in development of the mathematical models in hydrology, where he approached: run-off models (Physically based models, Conceptual models), data-driven run-off models (Transfer Function, Polynomial Regression, Artificial Neural Network), Time series analysis, Hydrologic Statistics and Probability (Probability distribution of extreme events, Multivariate probability distributions – Copulas).
He had improved modelling of snow melt process in hydrological models, and created the methodology for examining average flows by using methods of hydroformatics in planning hydro-energy sources.
He gained the particular knowledge on the Drina River basin as hydrologist in project Support to Water Resources Management in the Drina River Basin (World Bank, 2014-2017).

Ms. Vladislava BARTOŠ DIVAC is a head of the Section for hydrology and hydroinformatics in JCWI, with more than 30 years of experience in meteorology, hydrology and water management. Beside her main expertise – mathematical modelling, flood frequency analysis, forecasting and management models, hydrology for water management analyses, she also participates in project designs and consulting in all water related fields.
Starting from development of Drina HIS (1989-1991), she prepared many studies of hydrological regime of the Drina River and its tributaries.

Mr. Zoran SIMIĆ is lead research engineer and has 17 years of professional experience in the areas of hydrology and integration of hydro-information systems. He was involved in the development of a number of HPP projects. He worked on hydrological studies and was responsible hydrologist in the elaboration of 50 studies which dealt with the balance of surface waters, flood frequency on both investigated and non-investigated profiles, mean monthly discharges at profiles without any observation data, flood wave propagation, simulation models of river basins etc.

Dr Brankica MAJKIĆ-DURSUN is a hydrogeologist expert, research associate, employed in JCWI as a lead research engineer. She has a multi-disciplinary background and experience in the water management and environmental engineering sector with more than 12 years of professional experience. She has significant experience in scientific research of new methodologies, statistical analysis and groundwater processes in alluvial aquifers; experience in preparation and participation in developing planning documentation and studies in the field of water management and water balance calculation, as well as extensive experience in project management and coordination. She has good knowledge of national administrative procedures and governmental structure. Since 2019, she is also, the Director of 2nd Category Centre for “Water for Sustainable Development and Adaptation to Climate change”, under the auspices of UNESCO.

Mr. Lazar Ignjatovic, works on preparing study and planning documentation in the field of water management (water protection studies and river basin management plans) and technical documentation for sewer networks. He has experience in water quality modelling and GIS technologies (nutrient retention along the Danube River in Serbia; improving reservoir protection in Serbia; optimizing surface and groundwater monitoring network; the impact of land use on water regime in the Danube basin within the CAMARO-D project of the Danube transnational program Interreg), preparation of water balances using WEAP software and hydraulic modelling using HEC-RAS program, Surface Water Modelling System – SMS (RMA2 and RMA4 analyzes) and EPANET.

Mr. Nebojša POPOVIĆ is head of the Surface Water Engineering Department, lead research engineer with 21 yeаr of professional experience in design, supervision, hydraulic structures construction management (river regulation and relocation, small dams and reservoirs, flood protection, small HPPs, water supply structures, sewerage and municipal waste deposit sites) in Serbia and abroad (Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro).
He worked on projects financed by World Bank, UNDP, as well as regional and international companies (EPS, EFT).

Mr Vladimir MILIVOJEVIĆ, M.Sc. M.E. has 15 years of professional experience in IT, research, and programming. From 009 to 2018 Mr. Milivojevic was the senior research engineer at Hydropower & Hydro-informatics Division at JCI, Belgrade. From 2018, he is a Department manager of Hydrology and Applied Informatics Department JCWI.
His key qualifications relevant to the project include information system design (in hydroinformatics and GIS), programming (object-oriented and service oriented), database design, optimization (GA, multi-objective and neural networks), data assimilation and statistical analysis.
His experience in the Drina River Basin includes the development of the “Drina River Hydro-Information System” and hydropower analyses related to hydropower operation in the “Upper Drina” and “Middle Drina” Drina River sectors.
He is the author or co-author of over 25 scientific and professional papers, 6 technical solutions approved by the Serbian Ministry of Science and Technology and 1 book (in Serbian).

He provided a wide range of HPP design and development consulting services working on projects financed by World Bank, EBRD, UNDP, as well as regional and international companies (EPS, SECI Energia, RWE, EFT) and worked in several Western Balkans countries (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, FRY Macedonia and Albania).
He has a deep understanding of the Drina River basin thanks to his past assignments (study work for the World Bank, more than a decade long consulting for DRB electric power companies).

Sonja Gavric, Forestry Engineer, graduated from the Department of Erosion and Torrential streams. She has experience in projects related to torrents and erosion, floods caused by torrential streams, and has been engaged in the preparation of erosion maps in Serbia, preliminary anti-erosion works, protection of infrastructure against torrential flows, projects of biological, biotechnical and technical systems for erosion control, etc. She has participated in international projects related to erosion and torrents. Currently, she manages the Sedimentology Laboratory at the Institute.

Dr Matos is a civil engineer with a M.Sc and a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) University of Lisbon, Portugal
He initially worked for Utilities on water distribution and sanitation systems before completing his PhD on large scale hydrology of the Zambezi River.
José developed for the WWF and IFIs a water basin monitoring and flood forecast system, including climate change considerations. He has also developed a multi-hazard probabilistic dam risk assessment framework applied to the Rhone valley in Switzerland, and a web-based probabilistic flood and hydrology forecasting system based on an all-new machine learning concept.

Natasa Marinkovic graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade. She is a civil hydrotechnical engineer with experience in design new hydrotechnical structures, dams with appurtenant facilities, hydropower plants, river hydraulics, flood protection, water and environmental management and rehabilitation of existing facilities. She gained experience by participating in numerous projects implemented in Serbia and abroad: Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nigeria, Cyprus, Algeria, Iraq, Georgia, Tahiti, etc. As a non-key expert for hydropower, she was involved in the development of the project “Support to Water Resources Management in the Drina River Basin” (2014-2017).

Dr Launay is highly competent in 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling using the following software: HEC-RAS, MAGE, RubarBE (the 2 latter are IRSTEA developed software), and Telemac.
She has programmed scripts to analyse river and sediment date using CFD software such as Matlab. Dr Launay has successfully completed spatial analysis using geo information systems (ArcGIS, QGIS) for hazard maps and for the identification of proposed hydropower sites.
Marina has carried out field investigations specifically for the collection of hydrological, sediment and contamination data from rivers and reservoirs. She is currently working on developing a benchmark to assess software which models both hydraulic and sediment transport, she is also writing operational guidelines for the management of sedimentation in reservoirs.

Dr Marcelo Leite Ribeiro is a civil engineer with more than 18 years of experience in fluvial hydraulics, hydraulic structures and hydropower projects.
After 2 years of experience in small hydropower projects in Brazil, he moved to Switzerland where he has followed a Master of Advanced Studies in Hydraulic Schemes (2003-2005, part-time) and he has obtained a PhD in civil Engineering, both at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
He has worked as an engineer at the Laboratory of Hydraulic Constructions (LCH-EPFL) where he acquired a large experience in physical and numerical hydraulic modelling.
Since 2011, he has been working with conception, design, technical-economic analysis and construction of different parts of a hydropower scheme (hydraulic structures, dams, etc.).
Marcelo has worked extensively on the construction of large dams in Angola and Georgia. He is the project manager for providing Owner’s Engineer Services for the construction of the 433 MW Namakvani cascade in Georgia and the rehabilitation of the El Contador hydropower scheme in Sao Tomé. He was previously the project manager for the heightening of the Cambambe dam in Angola and the assistant project manager for the feasibiltiy study of the Alimit pumped hydro energy storage project in the Philippines.

He is familiar with both proprietary software (ArcGIS) and open source software (QGIS). Furthermore, he is acquainted to International best practices and procedures, including INSPIRE Directive.

Mrs Clo’ graduated in Environmental Engineering at University of Padua (Italy). Her technical skills include free surface hydraulics (1D&2D) and numerical modelling using both proprietary software (InfoWorks) and open source software (HEC-RAS). She has been involved in BETA Studio’s projects as hydraulic modeler for a number of Italian and international water resources and flood risk management projects (Kenya, Zimbabwe, Albania, North Macedonia). She also gained good knowledge in the development of studies and numerical models pertaining Climate Change and impact assessment pertaining to extreme events.

Mr Vangelista is an hydrogeologist with 26 years of experience in the application of CAD/GIS/BIM tools for the development of georeferenced databases for hydrological analyses purposes. Throughout his professional career, he has been involved as GIS data management expert in numerous studies and projects focused on integrated water resources management, flood management, RBM in compliance with the requirements of EU Directives. He has wide knowledge in post-processing and application of remotely sensed data, and topographic and bathymetric data applied to hydrology, geology and geomorphology.

Mrs Cudini has excellent knowledge of hydraulic modelling for river basin management plans and flood risk assessment. She has a multi-disciplinary background and experience in the civil and environmental engineering sector with 17 years of professional experience. She has been involved in water projects for which she has carried out 1D-2D hydraulic models using various software for RBM, FRM, reservoirs operation management, FF&EWS. Her skills include design, specification and installation of hydro meteorological networks and monitoring programmes. A growing area of work is also climate change adaptation, for example Elisabetta has recently investigated options for making the hydraulic structure more resilient via the use of techniques.

Mrs ZAPPALÀ has outstanding experience (30 years) in the development of information systems, database management and dashboards. Her area of professional expertise is computer programming, including algorithms calculation and interface customisation for hydrologic and hydraulic models for FF&EWS based on the client’s needs. She gained extensive experience in the calculation algorithms and customizing of the interfaces of the hydrologic and hydraulic models for RBM, IWRM and FRM. She specialises in machine learning, artificial intelligence and optimisation techniques. He has been involved in research projects working on the applications of machine learning and convex optimisation for smart water networks. He is fluent in Python and open source machine learning libraries as well as visualisation packages and software.

Mrs Segato is a hydrogeologist with 22 years of experience in the field of hydrogeology for complex river catchments. She has extensive experience in the sector of geomorphology, GIS application for hydrogeological risk and supervision of geotechnical survey. She is highly knowledgeable in the development and application of methods for studying watersheds erosion and sediment river transport by means of numerical models. Marilena’s experience includes leadership of long-term interdisciplinary technical cooperation projects and assignments in integrated water resources management, river basin management, flood risk assessment and management. She has undertaken policy studies on water resources management, been responsible for ex-post project evaluation and designed and managed action research.
